WPS Philadelphia 2010 Team Excited About Early Successes
Philly’s women’s professional soccer team had a TERRIFIC first week! Since March 17th, the day the WPS announced that Philly was awarded the 8th franchise, the WPS Philadelphia 2010 organization has been busy spreading the word to the surrounding communities about our new team, its upcoming events, and the need to have everyone get involved. Key accomplishments during this first week include: more than 100 fan commitments were received for season tickets (hurry and get your name on our waiting list!); several hundred fans signed up to “Stay Connected” and to receive the monthly newsletter; many area youth soccer clubs arranged for a team representative to speak at club functions and provide sponsorship at upcoming tournaments; the soccer camps and training sessions of our distinctive Team Dynamics organization (www.teamdynamicsllc.com) were integrated into the franchise to be an important and permanent part of the Philly pro team’s “farm system;” and plans were initiated by Coach Matt Driver for player selection for the new team.
