I woke this morning at 6:15 a.m. to get ready to leave for Chestnut Hill College. I arrived around 8:15 and we checked in at 8:30. When I received my room assignment I was lucky enough to find out I was in a suite with Meghan Walker and Alicia Hall. After moving in our things and getting all settled, we had a brief meeting with the Philadelphia Independence Staff. After the meeting, we had got all of our soccer stuff together and headed out to the training field for our first session.
When we arrived at the fields, the sun came out and the heat started warming up. To start off practice, Philadelphia Independence Assistant Coach Staci Wilson warmed us up with dynamic movements and different change of speed type agility work. By the end of the warm-up we were all ready to play and soaked in sweat.
After Staci’s intense warm-up we passed the ball around with partners. Philadelphia Independence Head Coach Matt Driver then split us up into two teams and we worked on possession. The practice then concluded with a cool down and stretch. Overall the practice was pretty moderate in terms of tempo. It was a great way to get the legs moving, and was a great start to the Mini-Camp.
