“By becoming presenting sponsor of our Women’s College Soccer Awards, the Independence have demonstrated their commitment to fostering growth of women’s soccer in the Philadelphia area,” said PhillySoccerNews.com Executive Editor Charles Cuttone.

The winner of the award will be announced in early January and will be honored at a ceremony before a Philadelphia Independence game at West Chester University this summer.

“We are proud to help recognize the great accomplishments of some of the top female college soccer players in the country” says Independence Associate GM and Director of Operations, Louise Waxler. “These young ladies have achieved outstanding success at the college level, and there is a real possibility that some of these players could be part of the WPS next year. We are happy to help honor their hard work and dedication.”
