The Free Coaches Clinic at the United Sports Training Center yesterday was a huge success and proved to be an informative and enjoyable evening of soccer. The event drew fantastic support, with over 80 area youth coaches in attendance to learn training tips from some of the most respected coaches in the region. Independence Head Coach, Paul Riley, presented a session on training creativity in youth players and the importance of a “ball based foundation.” His fast-paced session incorporated an impressive mix of foot skills, passing, dynamic movement and technical development to demonstrate top level training tactics to area youth coaches.

Several Independence Club Affiliates were represented at the clinic, showing their support for the Independence and gathering ideas to take back to their own teams. Cherry Hill FC President, Alan Feldman, took part in the clinic and shared his enjoyment of the evening. “It was great to get some quality drills from established coaches” said Alan of his experience. “Paul has a lot of energy and it’s pretty impressive what he’s done with the girls that he’s training. I’m sure that will translate into success for the Independence on the field in the upcoming year.”

United Sports and PrimoSport worked hard to put together an outstanding event and succeeded in making it an educational and fun night of soccer. United Sports Senior Program Director, John Hatt, was pleased with the turnout and response to the event. “We’re excited that we were able to benefit local players by increasing the knowledge of area coaches, and all the feedback we have gotten is extremely positive. It was a great joint effort between PrimoSport, the Independence and United Sports, and we hope to turn the clinic into an annual event.”

The Independence would like to thank PrimoSport and United Sports for making it a great evening for everyone involved. The Independence is looking forward to becoming immersed in the local soccer community, and hopes to continue gaining supporters like Frank Cannizarro, President of Chichester Soccer Club. “You have shown me and our community that the Independence is and will always be a class organization. As a season ticket holder and a Club Affiliate I look forward to working with [the Independence] and watching the ladies play.”
