Independence Featured on NBC’s the 10! Show
The Philadelphia Independence was broadcast live in action at Chestnut Hill College this morning in a segment on NBC’s the 10! Show. Tim Furlong of the 10! Show’s fun approach to the piece captured the great atmosphere of the training event and highlighted the excitement of everything happening with the Independence.
Staci Wilson, Independence Assistant Coach and Head of the Team Independence Youth Development Program, is thrilled with the morning’s activities and the television broadcast. “It’s always fun to be out there with the kids and interacting with the community, and we’re so grateful to The 10! Show for taking the time to come out and showcase the action.”
Kids involved in the event were enthusiastic about Women’s Professional Soccer returning to Philadelphia and the opportunity to be learning from Pro Team personnel. Rachel Allison, from Philadelphia Soccer Club revealed her dream of playing professionally someday and told Tim Furlong that she “can’t wait to watch the games in the Spring.”
There are a lot of major milestones and opportunities to get involved with the team before the season kicks off in April. Director of Outreach, Kelly Rowland is optimistic about the impact of both the Community Care and Youth Development Programs in the months ahead. “With the recent launch of our Youth Development Program, the September 1 release of our Ticketing Program, and the upcoming drafts, it’s an incredibly exciting time for Women’s Professional Soccer in Philadelphia! We are proud of our Outreach programs and we hope that the community continues to benefit from having a Women’s Professional Soccer team in Philadelphia.”
