Account Executive – Philadelphia Independence (Downingtown, PA)

SUMMARY: Philadelphia Independence member of Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS), the premier women’s professional soccer league, is currently recruiting for Account Executives.

We are seeking a highly motivated, focused and professional individuals to sell season and group tickets for the Philadelphia Independence women’s professional soccer team. Candidates must recognize that ticket sales are the foundation for success for a professional sports franchise and enthusiastically help meet or exceed all sales goals. The position will require calling prospective buyers, as well as face-to face-sales at events and in the community. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in the sports industry with an organization committed to success. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: perform various sales tasks including business-to-business networking, new lead generation through research, referrals, and cold calling. The main focus of the Account Executive will be to sell ticketing packages along with servicing ticket sales accounts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participation with all ticket sales related events
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining customer database
  • Responsible for the renewal of full season tickets, mini plans, and group tickets
  • Responsible for servicing ticket holder accounts
  • Manage or assist with fulfillment for groups on game day/events
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly and monthly sales goals
  • Provide superior customer service to clients and potential clients
  • Network at events and meetings throughout the community including youth soccer, corporate, high schools, colleges and youth groups, sporting events & tournaments. via phone calls and face-to-face presentations that lead to ticket sales
  • Assisting with other staff personnel to promote marketing, entertainment and other sales initiatives.
  • Develop and manage relationships in the soccer community that will drive season and group ticket sales.
  • Assist in the creation of initiatives that lead to season and group tickets

QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel; plus database management skills 
• Must be creative, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal skills 
• Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends and holidays 
• Highly motivated with a desire to be successful 
• Comfortable on the phone and willingness to make high volume calls per day
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Other as needed Qualifications: 
• BA/BS degree preferred. 
• Experience in sales and sports preferred 
• Passion for soccer preferred 
• Goal oriented 
• Knowledge of Philadelphia and its soccer community 
• Able to work with management and a diverse team of people 
• The position will report to the Director of Ticket Sales at The Philadelphia Independence corporate offices: 1426 Marshallton-Thorndale Road-Downingtown, PA 19335

-Pay is base plus commission. There is no relocation package for this position.
